About Takeout & Talk

Takeout & Talk is COCINA's original podcast hosted by Xorje Olivares, where meaningful conversations unfold over a shared takeout meal. Each episode brings together influential voices from across Latino culture—including journalists, authors, musicians, filmmakers, comedians, creators, and entrepreneurs—to explore the stories, experiences, and traditions that shape their lives. Rather than a traditional interview, the podcast creates a relaxed setting where food becomes the starting point for honest conversations about identity, creativity, culture, and community.

Since its launch in October 2025, Takeout & Talk has featured guests such as Suzy Exposito, Zeke Peña, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Manuel Betancourt, Sonora Reyes, Curly Velasquez, Cher Álvarez, Dr. Regina Martínez Lorenzo, Tomás Mier, and Becca Ramos, among others. Every episode offers a unique perspective while highlighting the connection between food and personal storytelling, showing how the meals we choose often reflect our memories, heritage, and experiences.

This interactive map brings the podcast to life by showcasing every restaurant, café, and takeout spot featured throughout the series. Whether it's a neighborhood taco shop, a family-owned restaurant, or a favorite local sushi spot, each location represents more than just a place to eat—it is part of the conversation itself. Visitors can explore where each guest ordered from, discover new dining destinations, and revisit the episodes behind every recommendation.

Whether you're planning your next meal, looking for restaurants to visit while traveling, or simply catching up on past episodes, the Takeout & Talk Map makes it easy to explore the people, places, and stories that define the podcast. New episodes continue to expand the collection, making this map a growing guide to the restaurants and cultural conversations that have shaped Takeout & Talk from the very beginning.
